| TSAVORITE |
Tsavorite gemstone was first discovered in Tanzania in 1967, and, later in Kenya, in Tsavo National Park, a wildlife preserve in the African Serengeti. Tsavorite is an emerald-green Grossular Garnet and due to its rarity has become one of the most popular and expensive garnet. Stones over 2 carats are extremely rare, and a clean tsavorite of fine color over 5 carats are virtual museum pieces. Tsavorite, with a wonderful purity and intensity of its beautiful green color, is the most desirable of all garnets. there was no other gemstone but emerald that could offer such a rich, dark green color. This magnificent green garnet has been in great demand for jewelry since its discovery. Unlike emerald, tsavorite is often free of inclusions and flaws, and large Tsavirite gemstones has a high demand. Tsavorite Garnets are mined mainly in Kenya, Tanzania and some parts of Pakistan. Tsavorite gemstones are not enhanced, and their colors are always natural. |
